Tom Shively Speaks To The Democratic Club of Randolph County

The Democratic Club of Randolph County would like to send a special thank you to 8th District State Representative, Tom Shively, for taking time out of his schedule to speak to our club this evening.  Tom provided a few laughs, as well as an educational evening on what is going on in our state legislature.

Tom touched base on a variety of topics, ranging from agriculture, education, redrawn legislative maps and how our tax dollars are being put to work in the state of Missouri.  Being a farmer himself, when Tom talks about agriculture, you should probably stop and listen.  Tom also taught for over thirty years, so when he speaks about education, you should lend him your ear.

At the end of his speaking, Tom took time to answer a few questions from the audience, which ranged from funding being cut from county assessors to Missouri’s plan to drug test welfare recipients.  Tom also said, his votes standing up for Missouri families were already under attack by Republicans and that it is going to take everyone joining together to fight off these nasty attacks on families.  Tom said, “if you stand up, you can’t get ran over”.  I couldn’t agree more, Tom.

A fun evening was had by all and I don’t want to spill all the beans.  Besides, if you want to know more, you will just have to come to our meetings.

Club President Doug Galaske

Thanks again to Tom Shively and the rest of the hardworking Democrats of Randolph County Missouri.

Jeff Reed

Secretary, The Democratic Club of Randolph County
