Kinder Has Epiphany, Realizes He Can’t Beat Nixon

November 18, 2011

News On The Net

I for one, would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Peter Kinder for finally coming to grips with something every single Missourian has known for months.   Today, Peter Kinder announced he will not pursue a run for Missouri governor against Jay Nixon in 2012, instead choosing to run for re-election for state Lt. Governor and throwing his support behind recently declared St. Louis businessman, Dave Spence.

I believe after numerous conversations with Dave Spence that he is the Republican Party’s best chance of defeating Jay Nixon, said Kinder.

According to the most recent Public Policy Polling release, Kinder trailed Governor Nixon by 19 points in the governor’s race and had absolutely zero chance of winning the election over Nixon.  I believe Missouri Republicans came to the conclusion that Kinder was going to be an overall drag on every Republican candidate on the ballot in Missouri and had to move in another direction for the sake of the party.

One would have to assume that Kinder’s lavish hotel stays on the taxpayer’s dime, Pantless Parties, maniacal Twitter use, or simple inability to stay out of the days weird news, helped lead to the conclusion, he is simply the wrong guy for the job.

Electing Peter Kinder to be our governor would be like hiring a plumber to operate on your brain.  Glad to see Pete put down the plunger.
